Welcome to The Whartons Primary School
We are a friendly, inclusive and vibrant primary school at the heart of our local community on the edge of Otley in West Yorkshire. We are single form entry and benefit from fantastic and extensive school grounds in a semi rural setting. Our aim at school is to encourage children's love of learning and to set learning in purposeful contexts which develop enquiring minds and independence. We carefully plan a curriculum that engages children’s curiosity in the world around them and regularly uses the outdoor environment to drive learning experiences.
We hope that you gain a flavour of the ethos of our school and find all the information you need through your visit to our website.

If your child wants multi sports or sport & swimming camps, we've got those too. Check out our website for the amazing summer camp opportunities for 5 to 16 year olds. https://t.co/wbiS3FEaj1 @AshfieldOtley @AllSaintsOtley @BramhopePS @Poolceps @stjosephsotley @whartonsprimary
Mrs Manderville was bowled over by the creative interpretations and innovative media children used, to recreate famous artists' 'masterpieces' for her art competition. Well done to everyone who entered. Enjoy the winning entries gallery https://t.co/cJCO7PJjqF
Thank you so much to Neil Griffin, Wildlife Friendly Otley, and Lush, for the amazing outdoor habitats resources. They will enhance our wildlife area, helping the children create homes and safe spaces for our furry, spiky, feathered and crawly friends.
Thank you Captain Underpants for kindly pointing the way up to school. Great job Oliver! The PTA wonder if you have found any more scarecrows around Otley?
Due to heavy snowfall in local areas and more forecast school will be closed today
We are very sorry but due to sub zero forecast and dangerous driving conditions the school will be closed to all pupils tomorrow
Normal messaging service has failed due to the overload - School is closed tomorrow to all children except those of key workers. However, we ask only to send the children of key workers to school if it is absolutely necessary. Further information will be sent out tomorrow .
What fun Newts had making their own bonfires in the nature garden. We thought about what would be best for making a fire and we thought hard about how to layer up each item. We had to find lots of stones to place at the bottom and around the edge so our fires wouldn’t spread!
We've been drawing our own fun buildings (as a group) with positive and negative numbered floors. Each room has a purpose, for example a soft play or disco room. https://t.co/ZPrUeQXjYF
