Road Safety Quiz

9th June 2016
Stop, Look and Listen was the order of the day at the 15th Annual Road Safety Quiz at Otley Methodist Church last Thursday.

Pupils from 9 local schools pitted their wits and knowledge of road safety against each other and a group of children from The Whartons, Leah H, Evan T, Aimee S, Emma L & Natalie B were excited to take part.

They were tested on their understanding of Tales of the Road, the children's version of the Highway Code and were excited to win their heat to progress to the final.

After some heated quizzing we were delighted to emerge the final winners and on top of that Evan got the highest overall score of the whole competition to become the Audrey Cartwirght winner.

They all received a trophy and £25 Book Token each and the school won a Shield to display for a year. Well done to them all.

The evening is aimed at improving road safety awareness amongst children and was enjoyed by Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West and The Mayor Of Otley, Cllr Ian Jackson.
