Year 5 Trip to Jamie Oliver's Restaurant

20th May 2016
On Friday 20th May, Year 5 enjoyed a very exciting and informative morning at Jamie Oliver’s in Harrogate. The children were invited there to take part in ‘Food Revolution’ to learn about how to make informed food choices particularly with regards to breakfasts. Working in teams, they discussed and debated the sugar contents of many well known breakfast cereals. There were some surprising outcomes especially when the children saw the sugar content poured out in front of them. Using a variety of low sugar ingredients they created their own granola, helped to make pasta and tasted some of SousChef Tom’s delicious omelettes. We had a fantastic, hands on morning. Please check the Year 5 class page soon for lots more pictures.
