Armistice Day

9th November 2018
Our first WOW day of this academic year was spent finding out about the centenary of Armistice day through a range of activities.

All members of staff ran workshops with 6 groups of cross age teams to explore aspects of this important historic event through a range of artistic medium. One team learnt World War 1 songs and their importance in keeping spirits high, another used drama to explore key events and finally all children decorated a pebble as a poppy and added a thought and their name. These will be transformed into an art installation in school as a sign of remembrance.

In the end of day assembly the children shared their songs. It was such an inspirational day of learning.
