The Whartons After School Club
The Whartons After School Club is now open for business.
We are registered with Ofsted and Leeds City Council Early Years and we are based in the communal room within school.The club is managed by a voluntary committee which we hope will comprise of parents whose children attend the club. Parents are encouraged to join the committee and be actively involved in the running of the club.
What do we do?
The Wharton's after school club is the provision of a safe, caring environment offering a range of active, stimulating and restful activities for school age children after school. After school care enables parents to take up employment, education and training opportunities. We provide quality, reliable, affordable after school care for children attending The Whartons School, in a warm caring environment. The children take part in a wide range of recreational, social, educational and fun activities such as baking, crafts, pool, table tennis, indoor and outdoor games and much more...... Children can choose whether or not to participate in organised activities or to initiate their own. We have a quiet area where the children can relax or read a book, a quiet area away from the group where the children can do their homework and a TV and video area where the children can watch TV or a film. Our club is bright and spacious with the benefit of a secure outdoor playground. We know that young people learn best through play and by providing high quality equipment and highly trained staff we can help them to develop creative and manipulative skills in a happy informal environment. Security is our priority and premises, policies and procedures are all designed to ensure peace of mind for parents. The children are given a healthy snack when they arrive at the club. When are we open?
The after school club is open term time 3.15pm till 6.00pm.
What about the staff?
We have 2 paid staff, with experience and relevant training, qualified to level 2 and 3 in Playwork. All staff are offered regular training to extend their skills and knowledge. We have 1 member of staff with Paediatric First Aid training.
